The short answer. On a winter evening in Krasnaya Polyana people usually choose one of three things: the ski resorts' evening programme, a long dinner at a restaurant, or a banya. A banya is easy to start after the slopes close: you warm up after the cold, sit in a hot cauldron under the open sky and have dinner without moving on. BANSKЪ is a private banya at 9 Vodopadnaya Street in the village of Krasnaya Polyana: for the length of your visit the whole estate is closed for one group, and it is open round the clock. From December to March a visit for up to 5 guests costs 35,000 RUB per hour with a three-hour minimum, so 105,000 RUB; each additional guest is 7,000 RUB per hour; the rate for two is 70,000 RUB for two hours. Prices as of 26 October 2026.
Below: what there is to do in the evening at the resorts and in the village, when to start the banya after skiing, what an evening by the cauldron looks like in the snow, what it costs, and how to come up from Sochi and the coast for the evening. We do not list schedules or other venues: resort programmes change from season to season, so we describe options rather than listings.
What to do in the evening: three options
The resorts' evening programme
A ski day in Krasnaya Polyana does not end at sunset. On some days and in some seasons the resorts run evening skiing, and cafés, shops and promenades stay open in the resort villages; there are concerts and events too. What is open in the evening depends on the resort, the month and the weather — lifts and runs can close because of wind or heavy snow — and the resorts publish their own evening schedules. Check the resort's official website on the day.
Dinner at a restaurant
The village of Krasnaya Polyana and the resorts have plenty of restaurants and cafés, from a quick bite after the slopes to a long dinner. In high season, at weekends and on holidays the evenings get busy, so it is easier to book a table for a group in advance, during the day. If you want both dinner and quiet, there is a third option: dinner in the same place where you steamed.
An evening at the banya
A banya is a way to spend a winter evening in the mountains without queues or timetables. After a day in the cold the body wants heat: a wood-fired steam room, a hot cauldron under the open sky, tea by the fireplace. At a private banya you do not fit around other people's sessions: you arrive at your own time and the estate is closed for your group. At BANSKЪ that means eight spaces on 1500 sq m of gated, guarded grounds: the wood-fired steam room with linden benches, the pool, the cauldron over the fire, the spring-water plunge, a lounge by the fireplace, a massage room, swings and a veranda with a mountain view, and a restaurant with its own kitchen. Each space is described on the estate page.

When to start after skiing
A convenient time is after the slopes close. Closing times depend on the resort and the month, so check the lift schedule first, then allow for the drive to Vodopadnaya Street and time to change. How long the drive takes depends on where you start and on traffic: in high season the mountain roads can be busy in the evening, so book your start time with a margin.
BANSKЪ is open round the clock, so you do not have to come straight from the slopes. You can stop at your hotel first, rest and arrive at nine or ten in the evening — you choose the start time when you book. Bring just swimwear: robes, slippers, banya caps, towels and sheets are waiting for you.
After a full day on the slopes, do not start with strong heat. Begin with a warm shower and tea, then the classic steaming — a gentle venik warming at mild-to-medium temperatures. The banya master tunes the temperature, intensity and length of the steaming to how each guest feels. If you have any medical conditions, please consult your doctor before your visit.
A cauldron in the snow
The main winter difference of a banya evening is hot water under the open sky. The cauldron sits over a fire that heats it from below: the water is 39°C, the evening mountains are all around, and on a snowy evening the snow falls straight onto the water. From the cauldron you go into the cold plunge with water from a mountain spring (7–10°C), then back into the warmth: by the fireplace, in the steam room or in the pool. The 15-metre pool is heated all year round, winter included.

There is not snow in the village every day: mountain weather changes fast, and winter brings both snowfalls and thaws. The contrast of hot and cold works on any winter evening, though: steam over the cauldron, cold air, the spring plunge and the warm fireplace afterwards. More on how the cauldron works and how it differs from the pool and the plunge in the wood-fired cauldron hot tub.

What a winter evening at the banya can look like
The minimum visit is three hours (two hours on the rate for two). That is enough for steaming, the cauldron, the plunge and dinner without rushing. A rough rhythm for three hours — you choose the order and the breaks:
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| First hour | A warm shower, tea, the collective aroma steaming for the whole group and a classic steaming for each guest — both are included in the price |
| Second hour | Contrast: the hot cauldron over the fire under the open sky, the cold spring plunge, the heated pool, rest by the fireplace or on the veranda with a mountain view |
| Third hour | Dinner from the in-house kitchen, one more round in the steam room or a massage by choice |
If you want more treatments, optional steaming from 5,900 RUB per guest and massage from 5,900 to 10,900 RUB can be added. Some dishes are prepared to pre-order no later than one day before the visit, so it is easiest to discuss dinner when you book. The menu is on the kitchen page, steaming on the services page and massage on the massage page.

The summer version of the same evening — with cable cars, trails and sunset over the ridge — is in An Evening After the Mountains.

From Sochi and the coast for the evening
If you are staying on the coast and wondering where to go in the evening, the mountains are an option too. Krasnaya Polyana is often suggested as a half-day trip: for a banya evening that is roughly right — the half day just falls in the evening. By navigator, central Sochi to Vodopadnaya Street is about 57–62 km depending on where you start: roughly an hour without traffic, longer in traffic. From Adler the drive is shorter.
Count it like this: about an hour there, at least three hours at the banya (two on the rate for two), time to rest after the last round and the drive back. For the whole evening from Sochi, allow five to six hours. Leave central Sochi at about six in the evening and you reach the banya in time for dinner and are back on the coast close to midnight. Agree the start time with the drive in mind when you book — the estate is open round the clock, so there is no closing time to fit around.
Transfer from Sochi Airport, Rosa Khutor or any Krasnaya Polyana hotel is arranged on request: message us on Telegram in advance. It is billed separately. If you are coming from central Sochi or elsewhere on the coast, ask about a transfer when you book. You can also come on your own, by taxi or by car. Public transport into the mountains runs to the operators' timetables and there may be no service late in the evening, so plan the way back in advance.
If you have one day in Krasnaya Polyana
With a single day in the mountains, split it in two. By day — the mountains: skiing if the runs are open, or a walk around the village and the resorts. In the evening — the banya, dinner in the same place and the drive back to the coast or to your hotel. That way one day gives you both a mountain day and a warm evening without rushing. Book your night separately: BANSKЪ has no overnight stays.
